This information sheet by the Loving Our Children research project presents the estimated numbers of First Nations children, aged 0 to 17 living on and off reserve by province and territory, who are counted as foster children in private households in the 2021 Census of Canada. It also explains the direct implications for how prevention services for First Nations children and families should be funded.
