The second component of the "Analysis of the Trajectories of Young First Nations subject to the Youth Protection Act" analyzes the statistical reports of Quebec's Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec (MSSS), known as the AS-480 reports. This data analysis was undertaken to compare the context of out-of-home placement for First Nations children living on reserve with the rest of Quebec youth captured in the AS-480 reports, analyze trends in First Nations service trajectories over the study years, and determine the possibility of finding a population estimate for First Nations youth living off reserve.
