This report summarizes “Kids Count,” the 2nd National Child Welfare Data Exchange Meeting, held in 2023 to focus on the use of administrative data to better monitor and reduce known disparities in involvement with child welfare services for children, families, and communities and the significant disproportionate and disparate involvement in child welfare systems, particularly for Black and Indigenous children across Canada and other jurisdictions.
