The Quebec Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect (QIS/EIQ) is designed to collect information about the children and families who are investigated by child welfare services on a periodic basis, using a standardized set of definitions, from every jurisdiction in Quebec. There have been three cycles of the study, conducted in 1998, 2008, and 2014.
NOTE: These are findings that reflect the Quebec child welfare system. Please note also that publications related to the QIS are often only available in French.
