Quebec Incidence Study

The Quebec Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect (QIS/EIQ) is designed to collect information about the children and families who are investigated by child welfare services on a periodic basis, using a standardized set of definitions, from every jurisdiction in Quebec.

Study cycles were conducted in 1998, 2003, 2008, 2014 and 2019.

NOTE: These are findings that reflect the Quebec child welfare system. Please note also that publications related to the QIS are often only available in French.
