Highlights
• There is considerable interest in kinship care, but very insufficient data on effective models for implementation.
• This paper moves the field forward by examining outcomes for a clearly-defined and conceptually-grounded model of Kinship Navigation.
• Results show that youth who experience Kinship Navigation have significantly higher rates of permanency via permanent legal custodianship than youth who do not receive Kinship Navigation.
• Results also show that Kinship Navigation results in increased racial equity in permanency rates between African American and white youth.
