This report is the result of a review of data and information concerning the child welfare system in Alberta, Canada. The report assesses the functioning of the Alberta child welfare system and the ability of that organization to meet reasonable child welfare standards for the protection of children in its foster care custody. The report finds that the Alberta agency fails to meet the most basic safety, permanency and well-being needs of children in foster care.
